New album Loving a Ghost
out now!
At age 20, Laura Curtis from Sisters, Oregon carries on the tradition of emotive song writing rooted deeply in the folk, Americana music she grew up listening to. Laura had immense opportunities as a student of the Americana Project, the educational outreach program of the Sisters Folk Festival. She has worked with and been mentored by women songwriters in the folk tradition, including Meg Hutchinson, Susan Werner and Ruthie Foster. Laura has been instrumental in helping the
Sisters Folk Festival as an intern and executive assistant.
Given this experience, she has great respect for good songwriting, great live performances, and has learned about her own music by sharing these communal experiences each year. As Laura develops as an artist, she will continue to hone
her poetic song writing and is an artist to watch, for many years to come.
Available on iTunes, CDbaby.com and Amazon
“"Perhaps the most impressive is the storytelling here....…the total package sounds enough like
one of Curtis’ influences, the brilliant singer-songwriter Patty Griffin, that any fan of finely crafted folk music should hurry to www.lauracurtismusic.com for a closer look” "
